Luke 4:18”the Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Isaiah 61:1 ” The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Jesus said, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what you will, and it will be done unto you.” John15:7
John 14:23 “if a man love me, he will keep my words; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him. “( Our Home)
God’s Word is alive and powerful. It is living matter, and it is spiritual law. It is more powerful than the laws of nature.
God’s Word never changes, but IT changes things.
God is a spirit being, and HE created everything. We need to realize that the spirit world is the real world.
God’s Word will strip Satan of his armor and bring light to his lies. The Word of God can strip Satan of his armor of deception.
When Jesus was being tempted, he kept saying, “It is written.” He was standing on the sure foundation by speaking only what the Father had said.
When Satan was talking to Jesus, he tried to distort the Word of God. With us, he tries to cover the real meaning with a bunch of intellectual reasoning. He does this because effective, fervent prayer will destroy his dark kingdom and release the ability of God throughout the earth.
Did you hear that? Effective, fervent prayer destroys the kingdom of darkness. Effective, fervent prayer releases the power of God throughout the earth.
When those of us in the Kingdom of God release our authority in prayer as a joint-heir with Jesus Christ, we will take part in His divine nature.
We need to remember IT IS WRITTEN. My thinking is this. IF Jesus needed to use Scripture to fight the enemy. I, as a mere human being, certainly need to do so.
Through Jesus, we have been given the keys to the kingdom. Prayer, the gift of prayer, the act of prayer, is a key to heaven’s storehouse. The key to the storehouse, but faith has to unlock the door and turn the key in the lock.
We have to have faith in prayer. Otherwise, why are we wasting our breath?
John 5:14-15 “ And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us: and if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desire of him.”
If God hears you, you have been granted what you ask.
You do not need to pray if it is your will, Lord. There is no faith in that prayer.
When we pray, we need to be specific.
James 1:6-8 let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Mark 11:23-24 Whosever shall say unto this mountain, be thou revoked, and be thou cast into the sea and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he spoke shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he saith.
Faith is a spiritual law designed to unlock the treasures of the unseen. Prayer gets its power from faith, and faith works by love. Prayer will not work without faith.
Prayer changes things, but it does not change God.
Faith moves God. God answers prayer on the legal ground of the new covenant. We have the authority to use the name of Jesus. We have a covenant with Father God through Jesus. Jesus sealed it with His Blood. God honors the name of Jesus.
We need to guard our words. We are not to pray our problem. Pray what you desire. For example, I desire for my friend to be saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. I ask You God to send laborers across her path to witness to her. As I am praying right now, I believe I receive it in the name of Jesus. I cast all my cares on You. I continue to thank YOU for her salvation for it is done.
God does not despise small beginnings, and he certainly does not despise small churches. Small churches are weapons that Satan does not expect. What a beautiful place for God to move.
We need to realize that we all are facing spiritual warfare. It just comes with the territory. We need to be sure and put on the full armor of Christ as in Ephesians 6:11, “Put on the whole Armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the devil’s schemes.”
We must not allow fear to take over but stand with full confidence that we are capable of the fight we are facing.
Ephesians 6:12-13 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
These battles are not in the physical, but spiritual. We must seek wisdom from God and be open to doing what He tells us to do. Some of us in the war may be just sitting still because God sometimes whispers, “Be still.”
Can we praise Him in the fight instead of responding in anger? Do we trust God enough to know that He may not want us to attack?
There are plenty of stories in Scripture where the battles and war zones were conducted with the praise going first. The worshippers leading the way.
Remember how Joshua fought the battle of Jericho? Remember the 30 foot walls that were six feet thick that came crashing down?
They followed God’s directions, and the walls came crashing down. They had only to follow God’s directions.
Not by physical might, but by God’s army following his directions. Following orders.
Mike and I watched a movie the other night on Pureflix, “Adam’s Testament”.
The movie was about spiritual warfare, and you saw the demons and angels in human form. You saw the demons whispering in the people’s ear to torment or cause to sin. You saw the angels speak encouragement and strength.
I noticed in the movie that so much of it was quoting Scripture. The angels quoted Scripture to the demonic. The demons could not stand to hear it.
We need to have God’s Word in us so much that we can quote it when facing trials. We need to let the Holy Spirit get hold of us and flow out of us so that we can go out into the world and reach those who are hurting. We need to go into their world so that they can come to know Jesus. We need to speak in such a plain way that they can understand the Love of God. We are to start where they are, NOT where we think they should be. We are to offer them Living Water, and not dead religion.
Matthew 28:18-20 “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
